Ranked #5 of 15 2002 Shiraz from Clare Valley
Good dark, solid colour. Earthy, aged bouquet with attractive tertiary complexities. Assertive, grippy Clare tannins. Nice aged wine at five years, with guts, grip and concentration. Long finish: still worth cellaring. To 2020.
96 Points James Halliday
Glowing yellow-green; the complex and rich bouquet spanning mineral, lime and tropical aromas is followed by a powerful, long palate which is tighter than the bouquet, thanks in no small measure to minerally acidity which also provides balance. Top example of a great vintage. Drink to 2014.
