A very good vintage of this wine, and all prior comments apply, but this bottle is a fraction better than the previous one tasted. It's still bright and young for its age, with good concentration and ripeness, but there is an elevated level of acidity which disrupts the harmony of the wine. With food, however, it is no problem.
Drink: to 2024
90 Points James Halliday
Deep colour; sweet cassis fruit, mixed with seductive albeit gentle vanillin oak on the bouquet leads on to a palate with excellent structure, showing classic cabernet varietal fruit, with touches of chocolate, olive and earth, and sustained length. Retasted October 1997; similar notes. Drink to 2014.
