92 Points James Halliday
Big, rich and ripe, but not a hint of shrivel; full-bodied with plenty of oak to go with the mocha, fruitcake and intense varietal shiraz. Drink to 2020.

RP 97 points: "Deep garnet in color, the 2005 Block 6 Shiraz exudes beguiling notes of warm black cherries, raspberry preserves and Chinese dried plums with hints of fruit cake, salami, mocha and licorice. Very big, full-bodied and rich, the palate is very spicy, densely laden with dried fruits and savory flavors and structured by medium-firm grainy tannins through the long finish. Mature now, it should cellar to 2024+. ||My visit at Kay Brothers included tastings of back vintages of the Hillside Shiraz and the Block 6 Shiraz as a demonstration of how these very special wines can age.||Imported by Quintessential, Napa, CA"
