Ranked #1 of 18 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Cabernet Franc from Wilyabrup
Lighter colour within its context, and also lacks freshness; the aroma lacking fruit definition. Slightly stale, timber and tobacco forward developed fruit. Rich, ripe, fruit-sweet flavour and depth; not at all bad. I liked it more in the mouth than to smell. Does have elegance and is under-stated and moderate in acohol.
94 Points James Halliday
Bright hue, although not particularly deep; lighter fruit style than usual, albeit with normal tannin structure; needs three years before entering its plateau. Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Petit Verdot/Cabernet Franc/Malbec. Drink to 2014.
