        Huon Hooke
Fragrant, lifted, spicy, floral bouquet. Lean and lively in the mouth with lots of pepper. Thoroughly delicious wine.

              95 Points Robert Parker
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2009 Murrumbateman Syrah exudes attractive notes of cassis pastilles, blackberry compote, black cherry preserves and roses with touches of cinnamon stick and nutmeg. The generous and expressive, medium to full-bodied palate is framed by a medium level of rounded tannins before finishing long and very pure. 250 cases were made. Drink it now to 2025+.

              97 Points James Halliday
Bright crimson; wild yeast fermentation of whole berries, one month maturation on skins and 15 months maturation in French oak, one-third new; a gloriously fragrant and pure bouquet, then a silky smooth palate with spiced blackberry and black cherry fruit supported by fine, persistent tannins. A very great wine. Drink to 2040.

              96 Points Tyson Stelzer
Previously blended into Shiraz Viognier, now for the first time, pure, unadulterated Clonakilla shiraz! It sings with the vineyard, determined, directioned, flawlessly linear, hugging rails of fine, taut tannins that carry its opulent black fruits, anise and violets into an unrelenting finish. Drink 2015 - 2019.
