91 Points Robert Parker
Medium garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Winemaker's Selection Vat 9 Hunter Shiraz shows aromas of warm red currants, crushed mulberries and black cherries with touches of dried sage, violets, black pepper and cumin seed. Light-bodied and elegantly styled in the mouth, it is just a little lacking in mid-palate generosity though the delicate flavors are well offset by judiciously extracted, approachable tannins and lively acidity before finishing with lingering pepper notes. Drink it now to 2020+.

97 Points James Halliday
Light, clear crimson-purple; the deliberately gentle touch in the winery is exemplified by the 2700-litre new and used French casks (10 times the capacity of a barrique) in which the wine is matured, and the resultant fragrance of the bouquet and the delicious light- to medium-bodied palate with its vibrant fruit and silky tannins. Has fantastic length. Drink to 2030.
