Ranked #3 of 67 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Malbec from South Australia
Deep red with a purple tint; remarkably good colour for its years. Dusty, earthy, cedary aromas, mellowing and quite complex, with the beginnings of cigarbox. The palate is intense and powerful, rich and penetrating, with good supple, persuasive tannins and excellent length.
Drink: 2014 to 2046

Black Label is monolithic, powerful and bulletproof - there is not a single molecule of space within its perfectly polished fuselage. Cabernet, shiraz, malbec and oak are integrated seamlessly. Crucially, it''s still vibrant at five years of age and will live for decades yet. Drink 2021 - 2031.

The 2006 Wolf Blass Black Label has intense aromas of warm blackberry, smoked meat and black cherry preserves with hints of tar and truffles, chocolate and a bit of licorice. Full bodied and richly fruited, it is well structured with crisp acid and a medium to high level of finely grained tannins. The finish is long with savory and warm berry layers. 15% declared alcohol.Source: Robert Parker (In Asia) March, 2011 by Lisa Perrotti-Brown
