90 Points Robert Parker
Medium-deep garnet purple in color, the 2009 RWT Shiraz opens to youthful nose of plum preserves and blackberry tart with undertones of black earth, pepper plus hints of tar and cedar. It is a little hollow and hard on the palate and finished a bit clipped.

97 Points James Halliday
Deep, dense purple-crimson; the bouquet sets the scene with interwoven black fruits and cedary French oak; the palate is exceedingly complex, intense and layered; the flavours are spicy, black-fruited, with licorice and bitter chocolate, fine, lingering tannins provide the framework. Drink to 2040.

94 Points Tyson Stelzer
A mild vintage has given birth to the best RWT since 2006, a brilliantly inky black shiraz of dense fruit presence and an undercurrent of classic Barossa milk chocolate and liquorice. Nuances of game, charcuterie and dried earth hover around a ripe, black core, lingering long and lush amid firm, fine tannins. Drink 2019 - 2024.
