Is from .4 of a hectare planted in 1988, located under the Premier Cru “Goutte d’Or”, so named for the white, chalky soils on which it sits. They have had this vineyard only since 2006 and one can see why they were attracted to it. It is one of the highlights of the vintage—very open and fruit-driven and shows lovely flower & spice. It is ready to start drinking now. Burghound 88-90/100---Drink 2014+ “Relatively strong reduction blocks the nose though the solidly concentrated flavors possess good depth and a very firm acid spine that shapes and focuses the agreeably dry finish where a trace of exotic fruit also shows up. This should be fine villages”. Tanzer: 91/100; “Bright yellow. A musky quality blew off to reveal strong nutty notes of macadamia and almond, plus a whiff of iodiney oyster shell. Densely packed, tactile and serious but with a light touch. More rocks and flowers than primary fruit here. A precise, persistent, rather grown-up style of Meursault, and serious for village wine”.
