This comes from a mix of vineyards in the northern part of Meursault, including Les Herbeux, & Les Vaux, planted in relatively deep clay and chalk soils. It is the only wine of this Domaine fermented 100% in stainless steel: the others are fermented in 225 litre barriques, of which 20-25 % is new for village wines, and 30-50% for Cru wines. This wine is pure and fresh, and shows lots of Meursault character of floral and stone fruit, with a concentrated minerally palate. It will be ready to drink from a couple of years after vintage although continue to show improvement for a further few years. Burghound 85-87/100---Drink 2017+ “A pungent and not particularly refined nose of straw, apricot and melon leads to surprisingly tight, pure and vibrant flavors that possess good detail on the lemony finish. This is quite a good example of the appellation and is worth a look as it will offer a few years of development upside”.
