91 Points Robert Parker
Deep purple-black in color, the 2009 The Barkley Durif displays aromas of creme de cassis, espresso, chocolate, red meat and tree bark with a touch of cedar. With some dried fruit / prune flavors emerging in the very big, full and richly fruited mouth, the wine reveals a solid backbone of crisp acid, medium to firm velvety tannins, and a long finish. Drink this one now to 2019+.

90 Points James Halliday
A very long established and traditional style for Cambells, based on a deliberate decision to ripen the grapes to the maximum possible degree. The colour is not as vibrant as that of the Limited Release, and the flavour spectrum goes into confit territory; luscious and mouthfilling, it will certainly have a band of loyal followers. Drink to 2020.
