Light, bright yellow colour: obviously fresh stock. A trace of gun-flint among the iced pastry aromas: fresh, clean and fruit-driven, but full of charm and appeal. A touch of sweetness; good balance and length and the finish is clean and dry. Lovely delicate, fresh style. Drink 2014 - 2014.

A primary, up-front and fruity apéritif champagne of lemon zest and red apple fruit, demonstrably fresher today than it was some years ago. It’s clean and crisp, simple and one-dimensional, with plenty of fruit on the front and not much on the finish. The first bottle I opened showed a grubby, earthy cork character that suppressed aromatics and contracted the finish; the second was pristine.

Nutty, smoky, savoury - very much a pinot-driven style. There is a minerally dryness that lingers on the finish. A very good wine in its station. (75% pinot noir and meunier, 25% chardonnay. 30% reserve wine) Drink 2020 - 2020.
