Ranked #9 of 17 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec Merlot from Coonawarra
Deep, dense purple/red colour, saturated. Intense, bright, youthful and bold aromas of bright dark fruits, fresh and protected, shrill and seems early-bottled and lacking a little in vinosity. Still, the structure is firm and upright with grip and backbone. Very good, but needs more time. I wonder if those tanins soften with bottle age. I suspect a longer time in wood could have benefited this wine. It just seems a bit contrived.
Drink: 2015 to 2030
96 Points James Halliday
Deep crimson-purple; has more depth and complexity than recent vintages, and has relished its 18 months sojourn in new and used French oak; the flavours are a classic mix of blackcurrant and a twist of black olive, the tannins fine and polished. A long life ahead. Drink to 2035.
