        Huon Hooke
Medium to deep red in colour, slight purple tints. Meaty, slightly baked aromas, herbal and earthy too; not very cabernet-like. Soft and rounded in structure, medium to full-bodied, with powdery persistent tannins that turn the wine quite savoury. Good balance, length and drinkability, although it also has hidden power and aging potential. A nice wine, not outstanding, but a good drink.

Deep garnet in color, the 2008 Shadrach Cabernet Sauvignon reveals aromas of ripe blackberry and black currant cordial that are a little prune and raisin-like. Very crisp on the full-bodied palate, it is overblown somewhat with a medium level of chewy tannins and a long finish. Drink it now to 2018.

              95 Points James Halliday
Good colour for its age, showing no loss of the crimson edge; has very good varietal fruit thanks in part to the Corryton Park estate vineyards in the coolest part of the Barossa Valley that provided 80% of the wine before it spent 21 months in 75% new French oak; blackcurrant fruit is married with typical cabernet tannins, adding length to a high quality wine. Drink to 2033.
