Ranked #1 of 15 2013 Riesling from Canberra District

Huon Hooke
Soft lemon curd and lightly toasty, earthy aromas, bright and vibrant; clean, fresh and enticing. It's lean and a trifle ungiving at first taste: the acidity is crisp and tart and the finish cleanly dry, and it's begging for more time. It has excellent intensity of fruit and a lemon zesty, quartzy, mineral acidity that is lip-smackingly refreshing. Great riesling with terrific aging potential.

Light straw-green; a fascinating bouquet, with floral lime notes accompanied by hints of curry powder and aniseed, the palate every bit as complex, but also totally coherent and satisfying. Marks a welcome return to top vintage conditions. Drink to 2023.
