95 Points James Halliday
When Keith Tulloch decided to forget Hunter Valley shiraz in '12, he did so in style; this is a 60/28/12% blend of cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and merlot from Hilltops and the Barossa Valley. It emphasises his skill as a winemaker, but is more than just show and tell. It has integrity and elegance, with a sure handling of fruit, oak and tannins, all very well if you do it each year, but far harder as a one-off exercise. Drink to 2032.
