Huon Hooke
Deep, dark red/purple colour. Concentrated aromas of black olive and black fruits, a hint of blackberry jam, quite fruit-driven and not really spicy. The palate is mellow and medium-bodied, with nice fleshy extract and soft, fluffy tannin texture. A tinge of anise, but not terribly complex. Decent length and balance with a lick of alcohol warmth on the aftertaste.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2010 Black Label Shiraz has notes of ripe blackberries and blueberry pie filling with hints of olives, Provence herbs and tree bark plus a touch of pepper. Medium-bodied with a decent core of black fruit and pepper-laced flavors, it has medium levels of chewy tannins, lively acid and a long finish. Drink it now to 2018+.

96 Points James Halliday
Make no mistake, this aristocratic wine is far removed from the standard varietal release. The complex, spicy black fruits of the bouquet command immediate attention, and the textured layers of flavour on the palate build on the bouquet, with black fruits, spice and oak all contributing to a very impressive wine. Drink to 2030.
