Ranked #30 of 109 2009 Shiraz from Barossa Valley
Deep, dark red colour with the merest hint of purple. The bouquet is mellow and mature, nicely developed and quite complex. The palate is rich and full of complex developed fruit and flavour, with well-judged sweetness and ample soft, mellow tannins in harmony. A rich and quite sweet style, and very appealing.
Drink: 2014 to 2020
94 Points James Halliday
Spends 12 months in old hogsheads before bottle fermentation and 24 months on lees prior to disgorgement. Dark plums, spice and bitter chocolate flavours do not need, nor have received, excessive dosage. Continues the tradition of a fine wine under this label. Drink to 2019.
