Huon Hooke
Deep, dense, dark, red/black colour with a purple edge. Very rich, dense and concentrated aromas of earth, black fruits, plum juice and dark chocolate. It's very rich and dense in the mouth, full-bodied and thickly textured: a big, chocolaty, chewy wine which demands hearty food. But it is also soft, with all of that. Oak has been generously but well-handled. It developed some peppermint regional character on the nose with airing. An excellent Clare Valley shiraz style.

95 Points James Halliday
Deep purple-crimson; spends 14 days in fermentation and maceration, then 24 months in new American hogsheads; a potent, powerful wine with blackberry, plum and blackcurrant fruit encased in vanillan oak. Definitely needs until '18 for that oak to loosen its grip on the fruit, but will be very long-lived. Drink to 2040.
