Huon Hooke
Deep red/purple hue. Smoky, charred oak, spicy and blackberry aromas, with cool-climate personality, but suggesting some very ripe fruit in the mix. It may even have a trace of raisiny or pruney fruit. Certainly, there is no hint of herbaceousnesss from the cabernet. Broad, smooth, sweet ripe fruit palate again with some pruney suggestions. Pleasant generic 'ready drinking' blended red - and not aspiring to anything more

Bright, clear red-purple; the red and black berry fruit aromas and flavours are good, but the oak is simply too strong at this stage; it may or may not come back into balance with time. Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz/Cabernet Franc. Drink to 2018.
