Ranked #17 of 65 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Malbec from South Australia
Deep and youthful colour. Fruitcakey nose, with some desiccated fruit overtones. Very rich and concentrated, with lots of fruitcake character. A big and ballsy rustic wine. And the tannins are a trifle coarse
Drink: 2014 to 2034
91 Points Robert Parker
Very deep, purple-black in color, the 2008 Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Malbec reveals aromas of Chinese dried plum, Christmas cake and dried mulberries with hints of charcoal, smoky bacon, mocha and licorice. Very full-bodied and packed with spicy, dried berry and prune flavors, it has a refreshing acid line and medium levels of velvety tannins, finishing very long. Drink it now to 2019+.
