93 Points Robert Parker
The 2009 Ashmead Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from a single estate owned black that was planted prior to WWII. Deep garnet-purple colored, it offers lovely vanilla and spice notes over a core of black currants and blackberries with hints of pencil shavings and cedar. Medium to full bodied, it is both rich and nicely poised on the palate with a solid backbone of medium-firm fine grained tannins, crisp acid and a long and spicy finish. Drink this one 2014 to 2024+.

94 Points James Halliday
Deep colour, bright hue; the bouquet is essency with red and black fruit on display, complemented by lavish levels of toasty oak; juicy on entry, the firm structure takes hold and the oak remains on the finish; a young wine needing time. Drink to 2020.
