97 Points Tyson Stelzer
Children of 2002, meet your 30th birthday present. As predicted before its release in September 2013, Celebris is evolving in slow motion, with the stamina to live for a lifetime. It takes the energy of 2002 and the depth of almost 12 years on lees and zaps it with a charge of malic acidity that jolts everything into a state of frenzy, slaying innocent, youthful white flowers, peaches, white cherries and golden delicious apples with an ice shard of acidity that screams out for years to soften. Pinot noir has arisen in bottle to a deep and beguiling stature of plum liqueur, black cherries, dark fruit cake and quince of grand concentration. A fine, chewy structure unites the texture of long lees age with the pronounced, mouth-filling salt minerality that bores to the core of Champagne’s greatest grand crus.
