Ranked #31 of 99 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon from Barossa Valley
Medium red, slight brickred. Minty US oak and earthy/leathery old-fashioned bouquet; some fruitcake. Palate seems a touch hollow, but doesn't lack flesh. Has balance. Some raisin and crushed-ant hints. Almost opulent.
91 Points Robert Parker
The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Ashmead has an attractive nose of cigar box, sage, earth notes, cassis, and black currant. Savory and complex on the palate, it lacks the depth and concentration of a top year. Drink it from 2011 to 2019.

90 Points James Halliday
A cassis bouquet with plenty of toasty oak on offer; quite luscious on entry, with red fruits to provide light to the warm and ripe black fruit; quite oaky, but very long on the finish. Drink to 2014.
