Ranked #22 of 61 2014 Shiraz Mourvèdre from Clare Valley

Huon Hooke
Deepish red colour with a tint of purple. The aromas are herbal and vaguely milky, lactone-like, and forward-developed, lacking a little in freshness and quite savoury to finish. There is ample tannin on the farewell, and a slight dip in the middle palate. Still, very good and well worth cellaring.

97 Points James Halliday
An 80/20% blend from 1893 plantings (Central Vineyard), 1919 (Eastern), and 1920 (Eastern) bushvines. The colour is fractionally lighter than the Shiraz, and it has the lightest body (strictly in comparison to its two siblings). It's no surprise that the bouquet is very expressive, with red berries ascendant, the palate juicy and silky until the very end when finely assembled tannins (and oak) provide compelling structure. Drink to 2044.
