Ranked #9 of 46 2009 Shiraz from Pokolbin
Medium red/purple: good hue, but not especially deep-coloured. Red fruit aromas with spices, fresh herbs and a tinge of coconut. Medium weight, but intense palate with restraint and elegance, no lack of power, but nice balance and drinkability. Very easy to enjoy and will also take some age.
Drink: 2012 to 2029
91 Points Robert Parker
Deep garnet-purple-colored, the 2009 Mount Pleasant Rosehill Shiraz is a more forward style with aromas of ripe blueberries, black cherries and blackberry preserves plus underlying nuances of toasty oak and anise. Richly fruited on the medium to full-bodied palate, it has a medium level of velvety tannins, balanced acid and a long, savory finish. Delicious now, it should cellar to 2019+.
