Deep red colour with a strong purple tint. The bouquet opens with lots of meaty, charcuterie and toasty/smoky oak notes, airing to reveal some black fruits and an overall impressions of very rich, very ripe fruit. In the mouth it is similarly generous, fleshy, rich and decadent. It overflows with lovely ripe flavour and silken tannins. Tremendous length, too. The smoky oak is a tad dominant at this point, but I wouldn't be drinking it for several years. A gorgeous wine for long ageing, although it will also be approachable relatively early.
