95 Points James Halliday
Medium red-purple; this is in the heartland of Barossa Valley shiraz style, the custom-made bottle a throwback to the 1940s; the bouquet is fragrant, and hides no secrets: silky, ripe tannins, abundant blackberry and spice fruit, and oak in perfect unison. Drink to 2029.

Deep red colour, slight purple; some development. Smoky, earthy and sweetly plummy, a touch overripe and a bit forward. Drying tannins and elevated alcohol combine to give it a certain hardness. Savoury style rather than primary fruit. A hearty traditional-style shiraz. Very enjoyable with food, but certainly not a stand-out vintage of this wine. Drink 2012 - 2029.
