90 Points James Halliday
From a small vineyard plot planted in 1987 with cuttings taken from the few small rows of 1867 plantings on the estate (the oldest pinot noir vines in the world). Light to medium red-purple; it is a very savoury/stemmy pinot noir that is on the cusp between ripe and not ripe; it is full of interest, and it is thoroughly commendable that the temptation to add 10% of (say ) '12 shiraz was resisted. Drink to 2016.
