Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2012 Alpha Crucis Cabernet Sauvignon presents a nose of blackcurrant cordial, preserved plums and prunes with underlying touches of espresso, cedar and damp loam. Full-bodied with ample blackcurrant-laced flesh, it has a firm structure of rugged, slightly astringent tannins and finishes long, though a little warm. Drink it now to 2024+.
