Ranked #14 of 70 2016 Chardonnay from Tumbarumba
Light, bright yellow colour and a slightly oak-driven nutty bouquet, with creamy smoky barrel-ferment complexities. The palate is very refined and delicate, restrained and pared-back, with softness and harmony aplenty. The oak notes on the nose are not so apparent in the mouth. (It had a full malolactic fermentation and nine months in seasoned barriques).

90 Points Robert Parker
Penfolds’ cool climate Chardonnay offering, the 2016 Chardonnay Bin 311, has fresh white peach, lemon curd and Golden Delicious apple with hints of honeysuckle and lightly browned toast. Light to medium-bodied, it has a lively line of acid lifting the pure stone fruit and apple flavors, finishing on a mineral note.
