90 Points Robert Parker
With a very deep garnet color boasting a vibrant purple rim, the 2008 The Vicar Shiraz gives an expressive nose of dried plums, creme de cassis, blackberry pie and Christmas pudding over hints of cumin seed, fenugreek, cloves and tree bark. Full bodied and concentrated with an abundance of evolving dried fruit and spice box flavors, it is well supported by a medium to firm level of grainy tannins and refreshing acidity. The finish is long offering plenty of dried fruit and Indian spice flavors. It is drinking well now and should continue to cellar to 2018+.
