Deepish red colour with a tinge of purple. The bouquet is fresh and lively, red-berried and minty, with a layer of nutty charred oak. It's young and undeveloped, and not quite resolved yet. It needs cellar time. Lots of potential, too, with very good intensity and length.

From a single vineyard near Spring Lane in Coldstream, open-fermented with 21-30 days on skins, matured in French oak (30% new) for 18 months. A distinguished cabernet with an autocratic edge that will please cabernet/Bordeaux lovers. It needs time to fully open up, but will be around for decades thereafter. Drink to 2043.
