Pure, fresh, lean and delicate but complex and mineral on the palate, this is a lithe and elegant, very finessed and persistent 2008 with grip and expression. This is a complex, intense yet light and very elegant Champagne with a pure, mineral-structured and persistent finish.

Bright, medium yellow colour with a strongly toasty bouquet, even a trace of slightly burnt-toast. The palate is full and rich and strong, with big, mouthfilling flavour and real generosity. This is a superb full-bodied wine, and it finishes very dry and cleansing. Long and satisfying. A good food wine - it has real palate strength and backbone. Drink 2018 - 2022.

The backward, primary fruit focus, bright acid line and salty chalk mineral prominence of
2008 frame a delightful contrast to the toasty, spicy, honeyed bottle age of the Piper-Heidsieck
style. The result is a 2008 poised to drink right away, at the perfect juncture between the vector
of primary fruit and the arc of mature development, yet with the acid spine to hold its own for
some years yet. Age has brought a creamy silkiness to its structure, while a little grainy phenolic
texture does not hamper fine chalk mineral expression. It upholds integrity and poise.
