92 Points Robert Parker
The 2001 Shiraz Hanisch Vineyard’s perfume is reminiscent of some of the great Diamond Creek Cabernets of the mid and late-seventies. Scorched earth, creme de cassis, blackberry, licorice, and smoky aromas emerge from this dense purple-colored Shiraz. Opulent, rich, and full-bodied, with more forward fruit than the Heysen cuvee, and a 45-second finish, this stunning effort should be at its finest between 2005-2016.
