Ranked #3 of 17 2015 Shiraz Grenache Mourvèdre from Barossa Valley

Huon Hooke
(Shiraz, grenache, mataro) Bright, youthful, deep purple/red colour, the bouquet sweetly grenache-floral, with lift and charm. It’s quite fruit-driven to sniff while the palate has coconutty oak nuances. Dark plum as well. Dense and high extract. This will be long lived and will richly reward cellaring.

96 Points James Halliday
64% shiraz, 20% mataro, 16% grenache, matured for 12 months in used French (66%) and American (34%) hogsheads. Salt of the Barossa earth, with no airs or graces, but calmly asserting its lineage from the word go and through to the aftertaste. I particularly like the licorice and edgy/smoky charcuterie nuances that flow easily across the palate. Drink to 2030.
