90 Points James Halliday
Medium to full red-purple; the bouquet is redolent of ripe, dark cherry and licorice-accented fruit of medium to full intensity. The palate delivers all of the promise of the bouquet with abundant dark cherry and plum fruit supported by soft tannins. Well-handled oak; good structure and weight, and - notwithstanding all this flavour - keeps the core of elegance of the Merrill style. Drink to 2010.
