This is extremely ripe, indeed to the point that it is right on the verve of losing some of its pinot character as there is ample menthol character to the cassis, black berry fruit and warm earth-inflected aromas. The rich and mouth coating medium-bodied flavors possess a seductive mouth feel and while the hallmark minerality of a fine Lavaux is not completely absent, neither is it front and center on the sappy and moderately long finish. While there is nothing intrinsically wrong with this wine it's just a bit too ripe for my taste. Note that this could easily be drunk now or held for a few more years first as there is ample mid-palate concentration. Drink to 2015.
