89 Points Robert Parker
From a vineyard planted in 1933, the 1997 Shiraz Reserve boasts a dark ruby/garnet color as well as an elegant, pure nose of red and black fruits, damp earth, compost, and underbrush. Dense, medium to full-bodied with moderate tannin in the finish, it will continue to evolve for another 10-12 years.

90 Points James Halliday
Medium red-purple; the bouquet, while fine and elegant, is quite intense, with intriguing spicy/sappy overtones. The palate is more powerful than the bouquet, but not distressingly so; here berry, mint, chocolate and spice flavours intermingle with a gentle touch of French oak. Drink to 2014.
