Huon Hooke
(Re-tasted) Light-mid yellow, bright; the bouquet is rich and complex with ripe-fig, smoky and buttery overtones, plus a suggestion of chicken stock-cube, while the palate is restrained, lean and delicate, but also intense and has some subtle richness and softness. It's dry but smooth and harmonious. Lots of Burgundy-like complexities. (A far better bottle than the first one sampled - which appears to have had an isolated fault.)
