92 Points Robert Parker
One of the great wines of this irregular vintage, this beautifully-scented claret with its penetrating fragrance of wet stones, blackcurrants, cedar, and smoke is an attention-grabber. Like most top vintages of Domaine de Chevalier, the mouthfeel is one of glorious suppleness, elegance, and richness, without a sense of heaviness or excessive power. The wine is fully mature, but exhibits no signs of color deterioration or fruit loss. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. Last tasted, 7/93.
