I don't know whether I misjudged this when I first reviewed it or whether this particular bottle didn't show well but it did not seem to have the complexity and refinement that it originally displayed. The overtly ripe nose displays notes of plum, earth and chocolate that lead to rich and mouth coating flavors that are impressively rich if lacking in the typical energy and minerality that is usually found in a fine Estournelles. For my taste this is drinking as well as it's going to now though note that it should easily hold for some years to come. Drink to 2016+.
