The 2011 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Canet shows good depth and body in its up-front fruit, but then loses some persistence on the finish. Sweet peach and apricot notes wrap around the soft, caressing finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012+.

A perfumed nose offers up aromas of white flowers, peach, pear and dried apricot. There is a wonderfully beguiling texture to the medium-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract that both coats the palate but also buffers the acid spine on the supple, round and forward finish. This provides an interesting contrast between a naturally sweet mid-palate and the relatively dry finale. Drink to 2016+.
