The palate is full-bodied and the tannins gently drying and slightly grainy, the overwhelming impression being of a savoury, earthy, somewhat old-fashioned wine with a lingering dryness—the antithesis of the modern, polished, bright-fruit styles of Australian cabernet. It's not a showy wine but quietly reassuring.
