Ranked #4 of 102 2018 Pinot Noir from Yarra Valley

Huon Hooke
Deepish, bright red/purple hue, the palate dry and savoury, strong and rich and sustained. The structure is solid and firm, the tannins lingering long on the farewell, in balance with the flavour. A big-flavoured and structured pinot which has muscle and staying power. Impressive, concentrated, and here for the long-haul.

Good depth and hue; inevitably not as striking as the sold out '16 and '17 vintages, but does have conviction and a strong sense of place. Cherry and crab apple blossom are anchored with the flavours and long finish. Well done. Drink to 2029.
