A single vineyard wine with 10% cabernet sauvignon. Deep, dark red/black colour with a faint trace of purple. An explosive, huge wine with a lot of oak and very ripe fruit, plus a touch of volatile acidity which does not worry it. This is a massive wine, a blockbuster, with no pretence to elegance. Lavish helpings of alcohol, tannin and acid, which simply do not come together well. The oak and skin tannins take no prisoners. Those who value size above all else in their shiraz will love this, but not me! The rating is a concession to them.
