Huon Hooke
Deep red colour with a tinge of purple and a sweet-berry cassis-like aroma, clear-speaking cabernet sauvignon. Full body, firm but gentle, with plenty of tannin for ageing and yet it’s approachable now. Excellent intensity of flavour including some tomato-stalky herbal notes, good line and length, with just a touch of grittiness of texture on the aftertaste. The palate is very good indeed.

94 Points James Halliday
From Coonawarra, Padthaway, Wrattonbully, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Robe, matured for 12 months in French (21% new) and American hogsheads (9% new). The warm vintage was mitigated in part by the major Limestone Coast components. Medium to full-bodied, with pronounced blackcurrant varietal fruit expression framed by sage and bay leaf, and appropriately firm cabernet tannins that add both texture and structure. Give it as much time as possible, however accessible it is now. Drink to 2038.
