Deep red/purple colour and a mineral, ironstone bouquet. A faint reductive note. It's deep, fleshy, tannic but supple, the palate youthfully bold and dense, with slathers of firm tannins. Opulent, earthy, massive and gutsy. It seems to have slightly higher alcohol. A whopper, and a highly decorated wine on the show circuit.
