Huon Hooke
Medium deep red, slight purple. Meaty and chocolaty nose; earthy and rich, a hint of fustiness, a touch raisined, almost porty overripe. Raisined, overripe flavours. Underripe/overripe syndrome. Grippy and rather lacks fruit. Later: a bit unfair: this has depth and flavour, richness and grip; not green or porty. But has that strange Eden Valley minty/herbal/DMS-Ribena syndrome. A lighter weighted wine. Like to see how it ages. There are some disturbing fumey, alcoholic and overripe/underripe suspicions.
