Huon Hooke
Medium-deep red with a good tint of purple lingering; the bouquet big on sousbois with subtle smoked charcuterie notes, the palate refined and intense, focused and penetrating, long on the finish and dried off by cleansing tannin and acidity. A bright, lively wine with abundant energy and length.

Gee, this is tightly wound by acidity, although there are attractive flavours within – the cherries, blood orange, autumn leaves, earthy spices and toasty oak. Tannins are sinewy and in the background. This needs more time to amalgamate. Come back to it in a year or two. Drink to 2031.
